A river in time

Summary: What would YOU do if you suddenly found yourself back in 1795? The heroine of A RIVER IN TIME, Isabeau ('Izzy') is a modern woman who volunteers at a local historic home. She's prepared for all kinds of questions and queries from those to whom she gives tours. What she's not prepared for is to inexplicably find herself--dressed in her Colonial garb, no less--back in time. Although the historic home is familiar, since it exists in both Izzy's own time and two centuries before, the people, the customs, and even the speech of those living in the fledgeling United States take some getting used to. And to make matters worse, Izzy cannot seem to find a way to return to the present. Is she 'stuck' in 1795? Can she survive and make her way in this extraordinary, unaccustomed world? And what of the people she encounters and interacts with: might her presence in the past change the future? A RIVER IN TIME is written by historical interpreter and author Deborah L. Courville; it is inspired by and set at The Oldest House (1781) in Laceyville, PA. Proceeds from the sale of this book are donated to The Oldest House.
